Single-family detached house on the Borda Fonta housing development

Escàs. La Massana. ANDORRA

Single-family detached house built on the Borda Fonta housing development, Escàs, in the Parish of La Massana, Andorra, with a built area of 553.34 m2 on a plot of 369.55 m2.

The property is located in a residential zone, between two streets at different levels, in an area with views and on steep terrain, features that determine the building's shape.

It has three floors and a basement with different entrances: one for vehicular access from the lower road and another first-floor entrance from the upper road. This construction design prevents the formation of an architectural barrier and consolidates the plot through maximum adaptation to the terrain.

The building fits into the general surroundings of the rest of the development as far as volumes and finishes are concerned, yet manages to establish a new form of expression. Traditional materials are therefore used as a basis for an approach to architecture that differs from everything surrounding the residence.

The building is a blend of two bodies: one alludes to traditional mountain architecture with local stone and a pitched slate roof, while the other is more modern, with straight lines, terraces at different levels and a stone veneer finish. The interior features double spaces, large windows with views, and interrelated spaces that interact and convey sensations.
